Capturing everything around and then deciding what to show is the dream of any traveler and content creator. The new 360-degree cameras, DJI Osmo 360 II and Insta360 X6, promise such freedom, but the choice between them depends on your priorities.
DJI Osmo 360 II, launched in September 2026, offers a higher frame rate of 8K/60fps. This means less blur when shooting fast-moving objects, whether it's downhill skiing or a running dog. An important advantage for travelers will be the built-in 105 GB of storage, allowing you to forget about memory cards in the middle of a trip. The manufacturer claims that a microSD card is not required in the standard configuration.
Insta360 X6, which appeared slightly earlier, focuses on image quality for post-processing. Support for Dolby Vision and 10-bit color opens up more possibilities for color correction. For content creators, the InstaFrame 2.0 and Auto Edit 2.0 features are particularly interesting, using AI to automate the editing and object tracking process. Additionally, the X6 offers improved audio thanks to the Direct Connect function for connecting two wireless microphones.
Both cameras are waterproof and allow you to film yourself in your surroundings using an invisible selfie stick, creating an immersive operator presence effect. However, if smooth motion in the frame and ample built-in storage for long trips are important to you, the DJI Osmo 360 II appears preferable. For those willing to spend time on post-processing and who value advanced editing features, the Insta360 X6 might be the better choice. It is worth noting that the DJI Osmo 360 II has not yet entered the US market, while the Insta360 X6 has been available there since August 2026.
