In an era where city streets have become the field of view for ubiquitous cameras, and artificial intelligence tirelessly scans video streams, maintaining privacy is becoming increasingly difficult. If previously camera attention depended on the human factor—a guard's vigilance—now algorithms work around the clock. German designer Simon Weckert has proposed an original way to counter this total surveillance by creating a fabric capable of confusing AI. The essence of the development lies in a "loud" visual pattern. This is not just a design, but a targeted attack on recognition algorithms. Bright, saturated colors and contrasting shapes are chosen in such a way as to confuse the neural network, forcing it not to recognize the wearer of the clothing as a person. Weckert demonstrated how it works: in video recordings, surveillance systems equipped with AI simply ignore a person in such clothing, not identifying them as an individual. This is a direct solution to the problem of "always-on" surveillance.

However, as in any war, this tactic has its weaknesses. The most obvious drawback is visibility. The human eye, unlike AI, easily spots the wearer of such "screaming" clothing, which is unlikely to contribute to inconspicuousness in real life. Furthermore, the question of the longevity of such a solution remains open. AI algorithms are constantly improving, and it is quite likely that future versions will be able to learn to bypass this type of protection as well. Weckert's development is not so much a finished product for the mass consumer as a conceptual statement and a first step in the ongoing struggle between surveillance technologies and humanity's desire for personal freedom. It is a reminder that even in the age of the all-seeing AI, there are still ways to maintain one's anonymity, albeit with certain compromises.
